The nylon wrap is a lot softer and more bendable. Fraying isn't really an issue - you can just force it in. The SS stuff is stiff and is a pain to put together.

I only use PTFE Nylon hose on my cars "as they dont smell" and i find cutting with a paper cutter the best and most easy way to cut them. I had a old one lying around and it cuts trough like a hot knife cutts butter. Even AN 12!!!

I have so far just followed the rule that if it's made in China I don't use it.
