k27/6 turbo from 1989 951 FS:
KKK, K27-6 turbo from 89 944 Turbo. Built for quick spoolup full 16psi by 3400 RPM with mostly stock motor. Can support more than 300 HP with extra fuel upgrades. Has just a tiny spot of shaft play but came off running driving car about 6 months ago that had no issues, or oil blow bye.
No broken studs. Stock center section for easy bolt up, sorry I dont have any paperwork to tell you how many miles are on it.
$350 shipped CONUS

Question on this turbo, I swapped to a K26/8 and it holds boost till about redline, Now does the K27/6 Drop off boost like the K26/6 Does due to the smaller exhaust side? OR is it not noticable because it has a bigger cold side running more air?

Correct on second assumtion the larger compressor (cold air side) flows much more cfm's (air) into engine and can thus outflow the smaller 26 compressor. The idea behind the 27 with smaller #6 turbine (hot side) is to spool up the larger compressor just as fast if no faster than k26 but hold much more air flow until redline. So your horespower can keep climbing up rather than falling off after 5800 RPMS
Like I said 300 HP with exhaust, shimmed wastegate, 3 bar FPR and chip set. With upgraded exhaust, injectors, mass airflow 350 hp would be about the max this turbo could make. Or go to a #8 hotside and 400hp can be reached. So many options out there...........
Here is a dyno chart showing mild upgrades with this same turbo compared to a mild upgraded but stock '89 turbo k26/8 notice the characteristics of power build and early dropoff of k26.........

k27/6 is en excellent street turbo and like the OP said your going to be around 300-350whp with these turbos depending on supporting mods. I would atleast expect 325who with a good mod list. Honestly this is the turbo I turely wanted for my car but none were available and went with a 46 trim T04E (which is around 300-315whp). So it is an excellent upgrade.

I have a k27/8 with the bigger 7200 compressor. The lag isn't much more significant than the k27/6. Boost Feen mentioned 1 bar by 3400 rpm which is actually more laggy that my turbo. In 4th gear I see 17 psi by ~3100 rpm. At any given boost there will be less backpressure than with the number 6 hotside, and the k27 compressor can't reach its full flow potential of 49#/min with the #6. A correctly exhaust k27/8 with proper fueling and tuning can see 425 hp, while a k27/6 really wont see much more than 350ish with sane boost levels. Of course the #8 hotside offers substantial torque advantages too.
