It'll be fine. Your trap will be fairly consistent regardless of launch. You'll be in fourth for half the track so it'll show a solid mph.

I'm expecting you to hit 120 unless you can't keep it from spinning every time.

Raise the limiter to 7000 to get over 120? Shouldn't hurt anything to do it once or twice...

Well, made it out to the drag strip tonight. Big thanks to Josh B for coming out to film and hang out Plan was to make a couple passes at 17 psi then a couple passes at 20 psi. I arrived at 6:30 pm and made my first run within 30 minutes. First run, missed 2nd gear and turned a 14.1 time Went straight around and staged, then 3 major accidents happened in a row and I sat in the staging area for over 2 hrs. Was only going to get one more run so decided to go for it. Cut 0.7 sec off my 1/8 mile time but hit the rev limiter and that blew my run.

Overall, great learning experience. First run was pretty nerve racking lol. When I first arrived I parked next to this Viper and talked to the owner and his teenage son a bit. I asked him a bunch of questions about the track, he told me it was only is second time out. He was one of the major accidents, apparently braked to hard and lost control at the end of his run (not sure exactly how) and he slammed his Viper into the wall. He was fine however.

No issues whatsoever with my car or motor, just the driver

Thanks Jason! Definitely going back in the Spring to see if I can do better...it is harder than it looks. I have gotten quite a bit of positive feedback about the exhaust note. Kind of funny as I built the exhaust for just over $200 including the OBX muffler for $50 on Ebay.

Great video. Were you on street tires? Getting these cars to hook up and stay there is a real challenge after a certain level of HP. I remember Special Tool's car spinning most of the way down the track. Somehow, with the speedometer calibrator input, an rpm input, a gear sensor, and a boost solenoid, there's an Arduino project brewing in there somewhere... It could double as a gauge to confirm when the tires are spinning vs when the clutch is slipping...

Two runs the entire night..! Too bad, it would have been nice to see what it does on a clean run. Always next year
The car looks amazing, BTW.

Street/Track Tires. Toyo R1R, 275's. I have a new Arduino Project (see my Head Flow thread)

Thanks Joshua. I absolutely love the Tuner/Logger. Ran 5th injector at the strip then switched to 4 injectors on the drive home with a fuel economy tune.

Came up with a what I think is going to be a pretty cool large plenum, short runner intake design. I purchased DIY components from Ross Machine Racing:

http://www.rossmachineracing.com/

The stuff is very nice quality and well designed. The velocity stacks are designed to be inserted in 3 inch diameter holes and also machined on the back side to accept the runner tubing.

Purchased the d shaped plenum, velocity stacks, end caps, and runner material for $280. A buddy is going to come over to Tig weld everything for me for $200 so I should have just a little over $500 in the intake when completed. Hopefully it will be completed in a couple weeks and around the first of March I am planning to dyno with the new intake.

Quick question, just to be a ****...

Did you take into account the volume of the pipe post the throttle body pre the plenum in the volume calculations? Did you take into account the runner volume in the volume calculation? And finally, should you...

NZ.
