It took me the better part of a day to finish the 3" down pipe and modify the exhaust. Everything is done and tacked and I am really happy with the fit. Going to take the down pipe to my friend and have him finish up the welds. I should be just a few day away from first start now.

Below is the setup for first start. I plan to dyno this setup as a baseline after break-in. Then I will begin making changes to eliminate restrictions and qualifying the changes at the dyno. I will be making my own SS 3" exhaust during break-in this will be the first change after initial dyno:

1) Full 3" exhaust
2) Custom Intake with 928 TB (thanks for the TB David Floyd)
3) Larger Intercooler
4) FRF Headers

Very cool.

Shoot me an address to send the intake. Iirc, you may need to re-angle the TB flange.

Nice drawing!!!

Next time you make a wiring harness you should consider throwing away the DME/KLR and using a GM LSx computer.

They are dirt cheap, will run the 4 cylinder in any mode of injection, full speed density or without a MAF, and have pretty much all the mapping capabilities of a Motec plus traction control, and a bunch of other cool things.

Used they go for about $80 on ebay.

And there are a million people that can tune them and the software to tune them is cheap.

And these computers blow away basic stand alone systems (eg., TEC3r).

It's a big step up in engine management for peanuts.

Did I mention that you can get them for $80 on ebay?

I wish I knew about these when I was playing with the turbo motors.

Food for thought.

Have you used on a 951 motor? Do you know if that box can handle all the stock sensor and triggers? Got to like the idea of a million users and endless aftermarket support....

Edit: sorry --didn't meant to hi-jack. Great build. Tony -- PM welcome...

Thanks Tony. Sounds interesting. I will have a look at it.

I guess you did not have Rogue's stuff when you were doing turbo motors. Very reasonable pricing and exceptional products. Most importantly, when you have Rogue's products you get access to his tuning knowledge which is second to none IMO.

Thanks. I wanted a drawing where I could see the overall system flow . It is really a visual aid to keep me focused on minimizing flow restrictions.

Shawn,

Re your drawing/test plan:

- Would you consider starting with the stock cam and making the swap to the NA cam your first change? I suspect a lot of folks will be interested in the back to back result.
- There's a 5th 80# injector prior to your TB. I presume it's inactive until boost comes up. How are you controlling it?
- Your boost controller will be seeing higher boost than that in your plenum due to the reference location. Are you logging/monitoring boost from the plenum so that indicated boost is close to what the engine is seeing?

Thanks for the info,
MM

PS: Looking forward to the results!

Michael, I a currently using a fifth injector. It works at all times. Josh has programed my chip for it. Works flawlessly.

Why a 5th injector and not just larger primary injectors?
