I couldn't do the pedal system due to my cage, moving the seat back to allow its use put my helmet under the roll bar and I didn't like that.

That's exactly the reason I am waiting to have my cage built until after everything else is done.

I made a floor plate of 3/8" thick aluminum that also bolts into the outside door sill. It's solid.

The pedals are about 4" further back from the stock ones.

I extended the steering column with a quick release and added an extension to the shift lever. I was able to move the sear rearward and downward giving me good headroom from the cage. I'm getting away with all of this as I'm 5' 8".

Thanks Man. It was a lot of work, probably the hardest part of my conversion. Good luck with yours.

By the way, this is where I got the material. It's a 12x12" plate and a 6" angle.

Yeah, this is the part that I'm not excited about. Thanks for the links!
The only other thing that's stumping me right now is how to adapt the old Porsche high pressure fuel line to the Corvette fuel filter/regulator. My Porsche line has a rip in it, so I need to cut it and adapt it somehow.

The GM fuel lines use a quick release connector. Any NAPA/PepBoys or similar auto parts store will carry replacements which happen to have about 18" of fuel line connected to the connector.

That's what you want.

Go with a return at the rail system (with adjustable pressure regulator), it's a much better system.

Otherwise, lot's of info and part numbers on 944hybrids site for setting up the corvette regulator/filter.

Early Vette (98?) LS1 Vette fuel rail I think is what I used on my previous red car which had a supply and return at the passenger side of the rail (like a 951 rail) with the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail (like a 951).

Which uses two of the GM quick disconnects as mentioned above.

Yes, the early vette rail has the return but most don't. I believe that Tim was planning on putting the C5 regulator/pressure combo and not returning from the rail (pic below). I have had trouble with those combos, the last one I installed provided 70 psi to the rail instead of 60. I dumped that system and added a return at the rail system.

That's called a Dead Head system (when the fuel isn't returned from the rail) and is not a great way to plumb on a high hp car. I wouldn't go that route either.

Anyway, I had real good luck with the 98 Vette fuel rail with its built in fuel pressure regulator. That setup made the installation super simple.

The only reason I'm not using it now is that it wouldn't clear the FAST intake.

My new setup Y's the fuel into the fuel rail, and Y's in back to the regulator (Parallel plumbed).

I'm using the Vette filter/regulator, so I will be using the return. I have the return line and line to rail installed. I'm just trying to make the feed line work right now. I believe I found something at NAPA that will work.

I realize there aren't many of these swapped cars but is there a "best place" to find one for sale? Or the best place to find LS engines and 944s with blown engines? Problem is I don't think I could do the swap.

As far as engine swaps go, this seems to be pretty straight-forward.
There really isn't any serious modification to your car to be made.
