1990 944 turbo. too nice not to share
Hi Guys,
One of our customers (collects Porsche's) recently acquired this pristine 1990 944 turbo. with a total of 40,000k on the clock its like brand new. All the plating in the engine bay is still intact along with the original bees wax protectant underneath. Being a 1990 turbo it also have the bridge spoiler, it was also optioned with M030 and sunroof. Absolutely beautiful car
regards
Sean

Beautiful car !!
But the steering wheel is on the wrong side .....
I really like that rear hatch spoiler on the 1990 car, did you notice that those wheels are pressure cast not forged like the earlier wheels ?
The spokes on the rear wheel are inset on the rim ...
That car is pristine !
Thanks for posting

It was such a bitch getting the stuff off my car .. It took forever.
But the gasoline worked very well in removing it ..
Is that really cosmoline or some waxy stuff ? I did think twice about taking it off, but I came to realize, this car was never going to be driven in the rain or snow

Not sure, but i suppose that wax was added Down Under. I have seen some low km cars originally sold here in Finland & Japan and those cars did not have that wax.

'90 & '91 were not S-turbos, so thats why they did not have forged wheels. Even some '89 turbos came withe those "normal" wheels. Only '88 250hp is a S-turbo. Most '89,'90 & '91 are equipped differently.

I didn't know that ..
Most, if not all of the 89's that I saw here, had the same wheels as(mine) the Turbo S forged wheels
The S2's were another story
You would think in Finland they would have had added the wax as undercoating, as it probably protects the aluminum from road salts ... ?
Best regards

Some difference on that car compared to euro version. Looks like most Australian 951's have that add on radio antenna added to rear fender. That car have also a third brake light like US version. Euro verion did never had it. Late 944 ('89-'91) sold in the nordic countries had a US spec rear bumber which was never used on cars sold in the central europe. Nordic cars also had US style bumber shocks (front & rear) which were not used on cars sold in central europe. Porsche made a lot of different variants of these cars.

Beautiful car... I'm hoping that the owner's intentions is to keep it more or less original? It even has M030, which I can't remember ever seeing on a (LHD) 90...
Those wheels are actually the same as the D90s found on the 90/91 928 S4/GT, minus tire pressure sensors. The bridge spoiler was a standard fitment on 90/91 turbos.
