meth injection
 

Thinking about putting a snow performance meth kit into my car and turning the boost to 20~22psi to get some more power any one use one on 951. Would you recommend it?

do you have e85 local?

what do we need to do to our cars to run e85? i have a snow meth kit on my hotrod and love it. my engine shouldnt run, but meth makes it happen. thought about running e85 in my car if i can ever finish it.

on the 951, all you need is a larger fuel pump (bosch 044), larger injectors 80lb+ and a tune to support e85 would go with Rogue Tuning or Vitesse unless you're on standalone you'll need a retune.

i would recommend it. I ran meth injection for couple years until I switched to E85. Worked good, I ran up to 28 psi with it. Progressive controller is nice and 50/50 mix of real methanol and water to keep things consistent. Stronger spark would be nice, like an MSD 6AL.

which did u prefer, the meth or e85. i know for me finding e85 is difficult for a street car. where on the meth worst case scenario is buy some -20 windshield washer fluid at wall mart. unrelated, on a carbureted engine to convert to e85 is all u need to do is larger jets. i have a large fuel pump but have to run 50/50 mix of race gas and super plus the meth. thanks

I prefer E85, car runs better and smoother with it. You do have to uppgrade the fuel system if you plan on running lots of boost.

And with the meth what is a safe boost level?

What kind of car were you running this set up and 28psi?

you should be safe with 20 to 22 psi
My 944, trap speeds were around 120 so it was making pretty good power.

Was the 120mph on pump gas and methanol injection oron E85? That was 28psi on pump and methanol or 28psi on E85?

Its hard to follow. What else have you done to get 120mph trap speeds?

93 octane and methanol. Super 61 turbo, some headwork and good valve springs, cometic and APR, 55# injectors, MSD 6AL, 3" exhaust, just under 3000 pounds. It really took a good beating before it blew up. Basically stock 180k mile block.

I have said this before but ^^^ this setup was my favorite prior to my build. I still think it is a great setup. Simple and cheap to do, so very easy to repeat. I can't wait for the next iteration.

I might go with a little meth spray when I turn up the boost.
