Default For those of you venting your bov to atmosphere..

Does your blow off valve slightly open during idle? I have a greddy rs on my 951 with an A tune and have it connected to where the stock dv was. I can't get the thing to vent so all I hear upon shifting is a ton of surge. I even took out one of the springs and if I loosen it to the point of not stalling at idle I can get it to vent but it runs kind of meh. I can tell the car is feeling the effects of a vacuum leak.

If I adjust it too loose I can put my hand over it and hear the idle change, it also takes away some vacuum if I leave it soft as possible.

1) don't vent to atmosphere
2) yes it will be open slightly at idle depending on the spring pressure, vacuum pulls the valve open, there is vacuum at idle.

I'm venting to atmosphere because I don't have a J-boot, it's just simpler this way. I did see that thread when I searched around though.

Seems like an awfully big vacuum leak just to cope through though.

I thought with a map sensor one could vent to atmosphere with no problems, I see now that I was mislead.

However to be honest when the car was actually moving (bov shuts) and I shift it ran fine while venting, the rich condition was hardly there.

Yes and no about the MAP sensor. A traditional standalone with an engine tuned only with a MAP sensor would function just fine with an atm. vent. The issue is how the A and M-Tune use the MAP, which is just to sense boost pressure. Airflow into the engine is still measured via the AFM/MAF.

Are you using your factory bov vented to the atmosphere?

Even with a recirculating diverter, if you've got a MAF pipe/etc (ie. no stock airbox) it's going to be plenty loud.
