What to do while front struts are rebuilt
My 'S' has leaking front shocks... or it certainly looks that way.
Either way, I had the double-adjustable rears rebuilt by the authorized Koni specialists, and I'd like to do the same for the fronts. Only thing is that the turnaround time wasn't particularly fast... Not a problem with the rears, and fellow rennlister Scott was kind enough to lend me a set to use in the interim. Anyone got any recommendations for how to go about getting the fronts rebuilt and still have the car driveable in the meantime? |
I'll bet Lart or someone local can help with loaner/donor struts.

If its not your daily driver, use the time to do some maintenance and inspections. I'm sure there's something that can be done, even if its a good inside / outside detailing.
If you need the car to get to work every day, there aren't many options.

They're the M030's of course... so I'd be competing with everyone else wanting to 'upgrade' to a set...
Don't suppose anyone knows of a set that needs a rebuild? -I could just get THOSE rebuilt and do the swap once. The wife just bought another new Benz, so there's "no room at the inn" and I can't leave the car half-dismantled outside... homeowners regulations etc. Storage at a garage would be considerable if the rebuild takes as long as I expect it to... so I'm still looking for some genius idea that'll make everything "better", I suppose. |
Sorry, I just sent my old ones out for a core . I would have thrown them you way if I read this earlier. All the best.
