Stock and Upgraded Fuel Pump HP

Does anyone have an educated guess what the stock fuel pump flow limit is?

I am thinking that I need to upgrade my stock fuel pump. I increased fuel flow via the piggy back and I did not gain mph even with more boost.

What I am thinking is that the stock fuel pump just will not flow more E85 than the 350ish (uncorrected) HP than what I am making.

The -044 pump has the following characteristics:

I think I need about 53 gal/hour fuel flow @ 3bar using 4 80lb/hr injectors.

The -044 pump has 260l/hr @ 5 bar; 220l/hr @8 bar.

The -044 has 68.7 gal/hour @ 5 bar.

There is also this fuel pump.

It flows 200l/hr@5 bar. This one is E85 compatible and just barley meet the 53gal/hr fuel flow requirement.

Does anyone know the flow rate of the stock pump?

You are very close if not at the limit.

I'd go with the 044. Very easy to install.

Stock Bosch fuel pump is 130l/hr or 34.34 gal/hr at 3 bar (max. pressure).

Did you use lindsey inlet adapters or what adapters did you use? Give me a shout one day and I will come take a look at how you did yours.

Seems like a -044 pump can be had much cheaper than Lindsey sells them for.

I got mine for 200 at work. The guys there had all the fittings for me.

Shouldn't you also upgrade the wiring when using the 044 pump; I think it draws quite a bit more current.

Dana - My 380 pull was on the stock pump but was definitely running out of flow though. Have since installed the LR HV pump over one weekend. Not running e85, at least not yet, so can't comment on the ability of HV to handle corn fuel. But as far as limit is concerned, I pretty much maxed it out at that level.

Yes sorry. Didn't say that. added wiring and another relay.

I did the Bosch high flow pump that lindsey sells. Supported my LS1 at 375rwhp with no issues and it's a direct fit.

Are you sure about the specs you posted about the 044? i have always read around 200L/hr, though this is info read from various forums. Never checked directly on the Bosh website. It was a little surprising how popular the 044 is, seems everyone regardless of make is running that or a Walboro when upgrading.

I copied this off a 944 blog about a year ago when i was researching fuel pumps. Not sure if this is correct but it looked right.

0 580 464 069 - 98 L/hr @ 4 bars - max 7 amp draw - stock replacement
0 580 254 910 - 130L/hr @ 5 bars - max 10 amp draw - this is the HV
0 580 254 044 - 200L/hr @ 5 bars - max 15.5 amp draw - this is the 044

Can anyone confirm this info above?

BTW, the LR 'HV' pump is from a 1976-1980 Mercedes 450 SEL 4.9L . Ordered one through WorldPac, shop price was $140.

No need to upgrade the wiring to run the Lindsey HP pump?
