Default Shipping exhaust (test pipe)

I'm trying to ship a test pipe from TX to VA and was wondering how much shipping had cost for those who did this before (maybe not TX to VA). I took the pipe to a UPS store and a FedEX Kinkos store and was quoted something like $85, which seemed a little high to me. Weight is probably less than 10lb, shape/size is pretty large though.

I have heard a lot of high prices when ppl take stuff directly to a UPS store, tends to be extremely over priced (just from what I've heard). I would recommend quoting it online with www.usps.com, u can do your own online quote before hand by plugging in the origin & destination zip codes then it will ask u for the size/weight of the box as well. Just make sure to insure it! It should only take about 2 days to arrive as well good luck!

I just plugged in some numbers to the UPS website.

Assuming your pipe is a bolt in and fits in a box 30x8x8 (room for packing peanuts!) and total weight is 12lbs, it is less than $20 by UPS ground.

How big a box would it need?

Is that inches or feet?

It's a Bursch test pipe. I measured it to be a little less than 5' x 2' x 2' .

I shipped my old testpipe for $50. I just dropped it off at the store they took care of the rest. I have done this with headers before too. Nice people there.

Personally I would just have the pipe wrapped in plastic wrap and call it a day.
