You mean the 917/30? :P

My favorite engine of all time. I often have wet dreams about finding one of those in a barn somewhere and putting it into a Beck 904.

Hnnnngggg

Trans is in.

Steering wheel getting done. Look at the shifter ma!

Dropping the GM ecu. Going AEM with dual wide band, cockpit adjustable traction control and DBW throttle (much cleaner than using a blipper)... and more. Always more....

Will be ready for testing by the end of next week.

Update...

Wiring almost done.

Went from GM computer to Motec, the Geartronics computer for the transmission (both talk over the can bus), 102mm drive by wire throttle (for throttle blipping and traction control), new intake, new headers and complete exhaust, new lifters and valve springs, rear blown difusser, and more....

LOTS of wiring involved.

Incredible work there! What pushed you to MoTec?

Where do you mount the old ARC2 with all that stuff in the way?

What kind of intake manifold is that?
I bet the 928 guys would be very interested in that.

=TonyG;13096444]Here's the update....
....

Anyway, broke the clutch and bell housing in the last race.....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just lost my C5 BH last weekend.

I am going to go with the QuickTime SFI rated BH with the integral adaptor for the 944 BH. It's amazing they make a custom BH for a small slice of a small market. Probably overkill for my 400 RWHP, but peace of mind should a clutch fail.

Gorgeous build on yours, and good luck with the new box!

I used to the motec ecu to control the gearbox, we thought it would be less trouble, but we had a lot of support from motec.

That's from over revving the engine. These full sized pressure plates start to come apart at high rpms.

You can use what ever bell housing you want, it won't fix that issue.

A small twin disk will however.. :-)

Motec has their package to do shifting. Geartronics has computer with their software (their GPU) , and Geartronics also has their own Motec firmware with the Geartronics GPU software integrated.

I've been dealing with both. The Geartronics software is more developed. So I decided to use their hardware and software.

It communicates with the Motec over the can bus.

Also went to DBW for throttle blipping and traction control.

The game has changed...

That is a very modified MSD LS7 intake.
