Tony,
Just read this whole thread...
Insane build with the up most attention to detail.
Sorry to see all the engine issues.
Food for thought down the road.
I race with sfr scca and all the ls guys are using mast motorsports for their engines now days.
Can't wait to see more pics/video of this beast.
Makes me want to toss a ls at my turbo s2k

It's been a long road.
New custom built LS7 installed. Custom lowered AVIAID dry sump system, 3 gallon oil tank with heater where all the electronics once resided in the passenger foot well (all that had to be relocated behind the drivers seat on the firewall) which also had to be firewalled off and insulated... with the oil lines running through the frame rails to the front of the car. New oil coolers, new plumbing, accusump delete, oil thermostat delete, had to modify the water pump to clear the oil pump, on and on and on..................
It's about ready to get the wiring put back together. I'll know more tomorrow.
I'll post some pics tomorrow.

More like a cross Continent fault line than a long road. Nice to hear of some progress.

It's been a while since my last update.
As you know... I blew up the 396" LS3 last October due to an oiling problem (wet sump oiling system).
So...
New custom built LS7 was put together and installed along with a Aviaide 3 stage dry sump oiling system.
What a deal that was to install.
A) Nobody makes a LSx drysump oil pan. So I had to take a mockup block/crank, a cross member, power steering rack and motor mounts with a blank drysump LSx pan to Vision to custom modify it to fit a 944.
B) No place to put a 3 gallon oil tank. So we put it in the passenger foot well. And guess what was already residing there? Everything electronic/electric + fire system. So everything had to be relocated which means rewiring the entire car $$$
C) No way to check the oil level since it's firewalled in under the dash/windshield. That means we needed to fit a trap door under the car to get the tank in and out, fabricate a oil level site glass to check the oil level, and another trap door in the main fuel cell area so we can open it and see the site glass!
It just never ends. But this is what you get (I get) by not putting in a dry sump from the beginning. Stupid Stupid Stupid
Anyway... enough rants...
Here's a pic of the wiring almost done, facing the back of the drivers seating area.... the rear firewall where everything is now located.
The other pic is of the oil tank with its site glass down low in the old passenger side foot well area.
The car is now officially running and at the dyno getting broken in and tuned.
Woo Hoo!

Here's an older pic of us fitting dry sump system.
What's cool that you can't see because it's not installed yet is that Vision ran the oil lines from the oil tank in the passenger foot well area, into and through the frame rails, then out where the frame rails end, and to the oil pump. Very slick...
