Tony what cam are you going to run? Also, make sure the builder uses the correct reluctor wheel, and cam wheel combo. Also make sure you get the cam sensor extension because on the LS3 the sensor is all the way in the front. Don't take it for granted that the builder and installer knows these things, because it will bite you in the *** when you go to start it... It will run, but start up will take a few tries and there will be backfiring while you are trying to start it.

Don't need to.

Just don't use 1st or 2nd gear when you make big power with big sticky tires and you're fine.

Also, keep the trans oil temps under control with a good cooler solution.

For sure. He's well aware that I'm running the early trigger wheels and my wiring guy is going to just extend the wiring for the cam sensor.

The cam we are running is the same cam that came out of it. It's the Futral Motorsports F-16 cam with 1.8 rockers. That cam is a great cam for a track car. It seems to work out real well when input into the software that we used to design the engine with the bore/stroke/rod lengths of the new engine. So we're not changing it.

I really want to change to the later trigger wheel and computer but I just don't have it in me to screw with the wiring right now. But for sure, if I keep a LSx engine in the car, I'll be going much bigger in displacement (well over 500cu.") and at that time I'll go to the later PCM and drive by wire setup. And yes... I've been in discussions about the larger engine well before this last engine screwed up.

The LSx 454 is available (LS7 heads, but Iron block)...with a warranty!

Although for that kind of cubage...would it ever make sense to go to an all-aluminum BBC?

52mm inlet / 40mm ex. Quite a bit bigger inlet than anything on a 951 head.

One head done, large valves installed, valves seated, head cc'ed, intake ports cc'ed, run on the flow bench.

28", .650 lift, 344 cfm on the intake.

The other head will be done tomorrow.

Now if we could only get the damn pistons!!!!!

Where the hell is FEDEX!

344 CFM, day-um! You sold your 243 heads a few weeks too late for me, unfortunately...
