That's a Insane amount of oil! Maybe make a inline electric pump to help prime the system before starting??

Plus the 3 quarts for the Accusump which also has to be filled and/or oil changed out of.

The oil coolers have each have an extra bung on the top and bottom. I think we're going to fab up something to fill the coolers and drain the coolers separately.

For filling, I've seen a number of race cars that have a filter/pump setup that allows you to attach a drill as a crank mechanism. You then just spin the pump, using the drill for a few minutes to fill all lines.

You might also be able to use compressed air to push the oil through the system.

I like the reverse rotation water pump, when my regular pump is ready for the graveyard, that's a great option.

Good luck.... I had to have a custom water pump pulley made then hard anodized. It was close to $500 (plus the cost of the water pump)

But the water pump is worth the hassle.

If you go that route, I can get you a pulley made if you don't want to mess with it, presuming you're trying to align everything up to use the stock crank and alternator pulley locations.

BTW... the pump is standard rotation. The stock pump is reverse rotation.

I had to laugh.... Custom everything, awesome rear suspension, massive tubular work, enough radiators and coolers to make a Veyron get nervous, barely an original bit left on the car.... And theres the plastic 944 coolant tank. Did your wife draw the line at an aluminum one?

We all had a good laugh too. I had to have something besides the camber plates be 944 in the engine compartment.

But it does fit well, has large capacity, didn't interfere with anything and (unlike a custom aluminum expansion tank) is clear which allows me to see the fluid level.

:-)

Today's update... 4.30.13

Pulled rear fuel cell and insulated it, side ducting of the radiator, new rear quarter window with different dry break, Accusump/oil filters/oil lines plumbed minus 1 fitting, test fit some radiator water lines, new gas pedal (which was cut apart and modified), test fitting a carbon dash.

Nice! Bet the workshop/parts pile is looking a lot tidier now. Not long until shakedown day!

Cheers,
