Refresh951's Hybrid Stroker - A Blown944 Design

Since Sid holds the patent on this stroker concept I assume you be including royalty fees in your final build costs?
I really do enjoy reading these build threads as I am a major fan of doing things differently. Sid's a good friend and seeing his evolution in the Porsche realm makes me wish he would start playing with Audi's.

Finished claying the valve clearance last night. This motor will NOT be a zero interference design. I will be using a head with 47mm intake valves (+2mm) and as you can see from the photo below the intake valve touches the valve relief in the piston. The exhaust valve was fine. I will be claying the stock head in the next couple of days to see if fly cutting will be necessary for zero interference.
With the timing belt on, I had about 0.060" clearance worst case which will be fine. I have had enough delays and will be moving forward without fly cutting on this build.

Wow Shawn It's looking really good! I've enjoyed following your build.
I work with a guy from Savanah and we're planning a trip down to GA. I want to see this thing in action!

Duke, Since Shawn didn't answer.
The sleeves do go to the top of the deck surface. Maybe you're meaning the pistons? I think his is down in the hole .015 iirc. Mine on the other hand
However, now that you made me look close at it, I am a bit concerned that the broach marks are too deep for the MLS gasket. I do wish I had seen that earlier. I hope it seals well.

I looked at it very closely and I am sure it will be fine. Not sure why my machinist put the chamfer at the top, I will ask him next time I am over there.
The fact that I am using the 103mm Cometic and the bore is 102.3mm buys a little room. I did a a lot of measuring when I installed the Cometic to make sure the seal looked good on the deck.
