WG should only be open on boost. Thus car is moving...fast. Therefore no exhaust in the car. Cheap exhaust is my goal.

I'm curious how yours will sound with the mini muffler installed. I have mine sitting in the garage. I'm waiting until I get a lift before I do any more work.
Tired of my blocks of wood and jacking it up and down My exhaust right now is a tad loud.

044 fuel pump installed. Finished intake porting and got it installed. WG dump complete. Going to make some test runs tomorrow night and if all looks good planning on the dyno Thursday night.

Good luck today. If you have a bunch of difficulties, don't sweat it. Just a little more time.

Put another 100 miles on the car. All set for the dyno tonight. WG dump with the LR mini muffler is very nice. Honestly I could barely even hear it.

Had Josh B drive the car to make sure my impressions were reasonable. Confirmation - the car is very strong. I have high expectations for tonight but we shall see.

Good to hear about the muffler. I guess I should put the car up on blocks and finally install the think. Won't be buying the lift any time soon. M-tune is next purchase.
3000.00 for lift

I had my days mixed up since I've been covering some extra night shifts I thought today was friday... with the forum being down last night I was hoping the dyno was posted. Something to look forward to tonight!

My guess is 400-420hp with 450#ft using 19-20 psi if the turbo can keep up.

I was pretty impressed! Shawn has done a great job on this car. Even though I don't have anything in the garage right now I am tempted to rebuild this 200k 951 motor I've got on the back porch to the same specs as his and at least bolt it onto the lawn mower!

It may be posted somewhere but which wastegate are you running? I have a tial 44mm and have thought about this option. I vented to atmosphere and it was way too loud under boost. Kinda fun though.

Josh should be able to make a great comparison since he had the Lindsey built 3.0L. Can you tell us more of your impressions based on you experience with a standard 3 liter build? It would just be nice to hear more since you posted the cost of the engine build in your previous car.

Good luck on the dyno.

I second Jonathan. I'd love to hear your thoughts comparing the two.

I'm imagining that the turbo is going to run out especially at lower boost levels.

You should feel one with a turbo and accessories that does in no way fall off. Pure horsepower...

If you do decide to do a stroker I'd go 3.1. The torque will be unreal!!!

Well I really appreciate the chance to drive the car and the fact that Shawn would trust me enough The car was just at 10lbs of boost and I didn't do any long full throttle runs. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Shawn gripping the side of his seat and debating the wisdom of handing over the steering wheel and wondering if his will was up to date

This car is very clean and well setup but delivery wise the 3L was very different. Shawn is running an open diff, turbo S sways, rebuilt Konis and 16" wheels with 225s on the rear and 205s in the front. The 3L was using an lsd trans, 968 M030 sways, Escort Cup suspension and 18" wheels with 265s and 225s. In addition I had a very radical cam setup and Shawn's car is running a stock cam and was much more civilized. Walking up to the car and driving it off boost there is nothing to indicate really what is going on in the short block or that it is running e85.

Even at that low boost setting on his car 2nd gear was as useless as first as the back tires broke free pretty easily. The power came on very quickly and there were no hesitations or hiccups. Off boost it was easy to drive - clutch wasn't overly aggressive at all. Really I couldn't get over how powerful the car felt (on horsepower and torque) - and just set at 10lbs. I am very curious to see the dyno results from tonight.
