reverse gear help

I'm bew owner of a 944 Turbo the problem is that's it's hard to put it in to reverse gear even wen the car is off could it be a bad transmission

Shift into 5th then pull into R while holding the clutch in.

If your shifter is nice and tight ,try adjusting the linkage at the transmission.
