Is there a way to adjust hood gaps
I was looking at my car over the weekend and noticed the gaps between the hood and front fenders was not even on both sides. Is there a way to adjust it?
The car has never been wrecked, so I have no idea why its like this. Maybe I just noticed it now. |
Are you the original owner/know it has never been adjusted? It's adjustable, but may include the fenders as well. Maybe check clarks-garage, but on older cars I've seen, you loosen the bolts, and you have some wiggle room, then you re-tighten where you want it. I would mark where they are now, in case it doesn't start looking 'better'. Annoying work and helps to have a friend for moving/opinion!

Biggest adjustment for that would be at the hinges. You might have to slightly adjust the hood latch as well.

Thanks Ben and Josh.
Josh- How's your car running? Haven't heard from you in a while. |
the problem may be due to people opening up the hood from one corner and causing it to twist slightly.
simply bend the hood back (for the win). |

I've been trying to adjust the hood gaps on my brothers 951 and its a pain. I left it worse than it originally was. Im going to try again tomorrow. Any tips anyone can provide? Is there a sequence to do it correctly?
