Read your blog -- other than the netgain -- I haven't seen any of your other EV choices.

I was going to use the Soliton, and my buddy was able to use it.

I need to find out what DC-DC he used -- he had the guy put in a series inductor which made a huge difference.

I think he's had trouble with his SOC meter -- can't get good readings due
to noise on the HV lines. Even after conditioning.

He tried to go clutchless -- but that was a mess -- so he tore it all back
down and put the clutch back in -- much better.

I have a BMS system from the UK guys. Its a DIY kit that has been
preassembled. Since I'm not doing an EV any time soon.
Your welcome to it for $200. LMK.

Also LMK if you have any questions or need a contact for my buddy.

good luck,

Mike

LMK.
I should probably add a blog post for components...though most are not set in stone. I'm planning on an Soliton 1 controller, and most likely the new CALB CA series batteries (65 or 75 in series).

I'm actually planning on using an Inductor and Diode in series with my DC-DC converter...due to rumors of voltage ripple and/or voltage sag causing the converter to fail.

I haven't decided on a SOC meter yet...but have a couple options in mind. Jack Rickard from EVTV really likes the JLD-404 (I think thats the part #) with a large shunt, seems to be pretty accurate, but is not easy on the eyes. The more cosmetically pleasing way to go would be EV Display connected via bluetooth to an Android tablet mounted where the radio used to go. I've heard this one may not be quite as accurate though.

I'm going clutchless...what issues did your friend have?

I'm not planning on using a BMS But out of curiosity, which one do you have?

I have this one.

there is a youtube video of the exact one I have.

His problem going clutch less was that he was unable to downshift.
Even after weeks of trying.
