GLEN2002, true words were never spoken. At least we have these tops at a price that is affordable to most. The alternative was very expensive. Either way, the corrective action will occur either by Pilk or our own folks.

Anyone have Pilks email and website address on hand? This thread has over 64 pages to search. I need to see if I can purchase replacement bolts.

cas951, only a casual enthusiast are you? Only prepared to read say 63 of the 85 pages of this thread to get contact details?

Hi everyone,
I heard back from the Operations/Sales Manager with an update.
He seems a little frustrated that the top retrofit has not made it out of Engineering yet but the good news is it's still being worked on.
I will let you know when I get more information.

Boy, I'm sure glad that I was not an early adopter!

I would like to throw out there a thank you to the folks who set this up, and to Pilkington for making this happen.
Granted, lots of hiccups but you really can't expect anything more with such an endeavor. I have watched this thread for years and have been looking forward to a remake of Saratoga since the late 90s.
When things settle out, I will absolutely buy one from Pilkington. I hope they know there are a lot of folks like me out there and continue to work to make this right and make it a priority.

Without them we'd still be wondering if anyone will take a shot and make these. I think our expectations for the first run was too high. We all know R&D takes a lot of time and here we were getting them to rush their R&D and production. As soon as something failed we were here just grilling them.
As of now I'm sure they are balancing their checkbook. Research and Development = $$$. How much money can they make developing this further for the 944 crowd. I'm sure it's not very much if any at all.
For me I'm willing to pay for the upgrades they develop.
Pilkington, hang in there and Thank You.

I have a top and it is great to have. If Pilk did not do this, we would be short a whole lot of tops and have to buy old poor seal tops at over 1K each.

Or not.
You can add me to the if/when list. I've always liked the tops, but I've yet to see a "what you pay/what you get" proposition that makes me want to open my wallet, either for the old or new tops. But if Pilk ever actually get the final design sorted out, I'd be interested.
Maybe we should organise an if/when group buy for the Pilk Mk II top, to provide a bit of motivation!

They just need to spend some time on it, and then they would have a following second to none ( What is there not to like about this product ( other than poor latch design( the seal on mine although a little wiggly has not leaked ) of course that is only when I wash my car heaven forbid my car see the rain ???)
This is an incredably poor business decision on their part ..
I kinda almost feel bad for them, as they really seem lost in the woods ?
