So used tops go for 500-100 depending on condition, and a new top will be cheaper? Think they have researched what their old tops are selling for?

Certainly think they could and should sell them for less. The price is high for the originals because of supply/demand. If they crank out new ones, the supply would increase, price should come down.
If they try to price gouge because of the prices of the used ones, I for one would not purchase a new one for the same price I could get an original in perfect condition.
