I have been advised that in mid june-july tops will be out. We will order direct from Pilkington and I am sure they can send them anywhere.

I agree with that but I'd like Bill to confirm that these will fit UK cars. Happy to purchase as soon as it's confirmed.

Jabriel: Is there something that leads you to believe that a RHD car's sunroof will function any differently than a LHD? The roof is a fairly simple affair with two latches in front and two in the back and there is nothing about putting the steering on the other side that would affect its function.

Not casting stones, just curious about your concern.

unless UK sunroofs open backwards there is no difference in sunroof design

Wait. I've been to the UK. I'm pretty sure they open from the left, not the right like ours.

So I note that the calendar says "June"...

It's so unseemly to beg, but any news?

Pilkington is outsourceing the hardware and waiting for it to come in. We are still in process. Glass is done just waiting for hardware.

Hi Bill,

I will definitely want to buy a roof without the rear hardware mounted. How will I go about ordering one w/o the hardware mounted? I'm assuming you're going to assemble these in batch so curious you're going to handle exceptions.

Thanks much,

Greg

Default Rear hatch glass

Has there been any progress on determining whether this can be done at a reasonable price? I have two that I'd send for this treatment.

My glass guy said that he really didn't want to do any more...lots of work to cut out the glass. The gap is not continuous, it appears near the hinges. If you could find a better way to do this with less risk, I am sure you would get customers.

Default Saratoga Tops - Information and Pictures

Hi All,

Sorry for the long delay but we have some exciting news. We are in full production of the Saratoga Tops and we have pictures to share as well. We have made 750 pieces on the first run of the tooling in over 20 years!

We are currently completing our model number certification process and working on getting the components for assembly. To answer a previous post, we will be selling the top with and without hardware. You will have the option when ordering through our Classics ordering facility.

We will have more news to share on completion date, ordering, etc… in the near future. We hope you are excited and enjoy the two included photos!

The first picture below is the painted glass going into the bending furnace. The following photo is bent glass exiting cooling.

Best,
Jon Sheets
