Wow, that sucks Tony. I had almost the same experience happen to me. I had my tranny out on a pallet ready for pickup. I pulled it close to the edge of my driveway and some scrap collectors asked if it was garbage as they wanted to take it to the scrap yard for money. There's no way they knew what that tranny was for. Check the scrap yard asap as they will recycle it asap. I'm betting positively it's there.
