Lol!
Good thing you can hang your shirt over the tail pipe and steam clean it when the head gasket goes.

Where are you guys getting the boxster wiring harness plug? I tried Oklahoma Foreign, the first one they sent me was missing pins #10, 21. So no alternator trigger wire or warning light. So the pump won't work. I called them multiple times last week, thought it was all taken care of, only to call today and find that they never bothered to ship me another one last week. Grrr!!!

Pretty pissed that they totally blew me off, I'd confirmed my address and gave my credit card info etc, thought it was a done deal.

Where else can I get one of these?

A looot of cars is using the Bosch 5.3 ABS so you should be able to pick it up at lots of places. But probably need to go there yourself and make sure it's the right connector.

Is the stock 951 abs computer that sits close to ecu still needed for this conversion, or is everything packed to abs unit itself?

EDIT: found the answer

Mine came from a VW Passat like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Passat-01...246c35&vxp=mtr

I had to re-pin term #3, I'm sure you can just add the pins to yours.

I read this thread all the way through about a week or so ago, and after mulling it over, I want to confirm one point. For early offset cars, do both the front and rear suspension have to be fully converted to late offset? That was the impression I got from some of the comments, but I just want to verify.

Yes correct because for early cars there is no ABS sensor availability

The question is if it is possible to use later style banana arms with early offset rear suspension parts and if it is possible to fit later style front spindles to early style front shock struts.

The square dash car I worked on was already converted to full late offset suspension.

I just need to re-iterate how well this ABS works on a race car

Yes front and rear have to be converted, early offset has no holes for the sensors. My 86 Turbo rear arms have sort of holes for ABS sensors that could be drilled, but then youd still need the actual hubs which have the teeth on them.

I'm going to do the full conversion front and rear, after reading this thread and getting those answers. Partly for compatibility with this ABS retrofit, partly for compatibility for later M030 suspension.

Two more questions: 1. What exactly are "banana arms"? Is that a nickname for a part more properly known as something else, because I'm having trouble looking those up. 2. Does the ABS system rely on having vacuum boost? The reason I ask is because I'm also thinking of possibly later on maybe doing an LS1 swap, which cannot use vacuum boost for the brakes due to fitment issues (I believe). Either the brakes are converted to no boost (manual), or use something called "hydroboost" apparently from a Mustang or BMW (if I understand correctly). Will that still be compatible with the Boxster ABS?
