I forgot to say this regarding your belt:
Make sure you don't get any oil or water on your belt. I don't know how sensitive our belts are, but in general water and oil will break down the belt, and/ or cause it to slip on the water pump pulley and shred itself. I would always replace a contaminated belt, even a brand new one if I'm unlucky when installing, belts are cheap...
Also, wipe the pulleys and gears with a cloth soaked in brake cleaner. Fix all leaks in the belt area. No oil should reach your belt. Run with the belt covers installed to keep your belt dry and clean.
