Any new spark plugs on the market?

I've seen a lot of Iridium users, any new developments or experiences with alternate plugs other than the NGKs or Bosch Supers?

Most of the plugs on the market are new, not much of a selection in used plugs….

My experience is that the ‘cheap’ copper plugs work better than the fancy expensive stuff. Just pick up some good Bosch or NGK copper plugs and save the change for something else.

+1 a lot of my mates get sucked in with the high priced plugs hoping for that extra response in power.

I have a excellent set of non new spark plugs for sale, they just need a little clean up, free shipping for you.

Iridiums are great plugs if you want to run 150K miles per set.

Unfortunately, in the 951 the head-gasket and the copper plugs are neck and neck on service interval. Mod it a bunch and "its head gasket by a nose!" (spoken in Shawshank voice)

PO had the Triple headed Platinum monsters, car missed badly at rpms, think that cost him $1000 at sell.

I think LFA951 posts more about plugs than Lart posts about polishing parts.
Spark plug technology hasn't changed much since the last time you bought plugs.

The irony is that $1.75 plugs are one of the few items on a 951 that you DON'T have to worry about. They just work.

The things with plugs you cant really set your "Own" gap and they wear out very fast and get really crappy too fast

That's true, my #1 and #4 always go first in getting fouled, have to change them every 3 months with oil change or else they start fouling...

LFA you are aware this is your 3rd Thread about spark plugs since you have been on rennlist. Why dont you test some out for us?

lart951 11-10-2011 03:09 PM
