What is a fair price range for a 99K mile 951 longblock that doesn't burn oil and has never been chipped? Thank you for suggestions.

I just purchased a "S" short block for around 1000 - and I saw turbo long blocks for about 2000- 2500 with everything - but this was a year ago.... could be 10,000 by now!!

Three Wheelin'
I recently paid $2,600 for a complete '88 turbo s engine with turbo, and exhaust manifolds delivered from CA. Ended up redoing the head, seals, rod bearings etc. I paid too much for used equipment. Buyers remorse has settled in.
If the head has never been rebuilt, I would not pay more than $1,000 - 1,200. A good head job is $400-$700. The valve seals on these cars seem to go south around 70-100k miles. Because of my recent experience, I would not touch it without compression and leak down tests from a reputable dealer or shop.
