+1 on welding the doors up. Just make sure your co-drive/instructor slides across the hood before jumping in the window...

Hope this is what you'll be seeing next season Sean!! It's going to be fun with Rod's new 3L competing as well. Can't wait!!!

The shadows make it look worse than it actually is. He also made up a small plate to on the rockers as to move the front flares forward for better wheel room. It's all still a bit tight.
Patrick, I think you are right about possibly needing to move the rear flares forward a bit. Comparing with mine it looks like yours are half to an inch further rearward. Bear in mind my car is raised nearly two inches over normal in the picture below as it is about to go on the container, but if you look at the leading edge of the rear flare panel mine is in line with the rear corner of the door cutout, yours is sitting back a bit. I have had to shave a fair bit off the inside edges for clearance as it is, any further back would be a lot worse, at least with my wheels and tyres.

keep in mind, when lowered, the rear wheels rotate up and forward. Nature of our suspension. unfortunately. So comparing those two pics apples to apples is a little difficult. One raised, one lowered. Add a bit of toe in to the rear and it (wheels) gets a bit out of hand towards the front of the car when lowered.

My point was to look at the flare panel itself in relation to the rest of the bodywork, specifically the door opening, ignoring the position of the wheels.

I still think my flare panels are slightly further forward than Patricks. I don't have too many directly side on shots, but here's another one thats close, and this one is at lowered height.

I agree with you Steve. Looks like I've got roughly at least an inch of room compared to the door opening where yours looks almost on the opening. Plus my tyres are 320 on the rear.
From memory yours are slightly narrower? Another side issue is that I won't be able to lower mine as much as I'd like.

The only problem I foresee is that all the bolt holes at the rear of the rear flare will be uncovered if we move it much further forwards?

Filler is your friend

My current rears are 300/650s on 12 inch rims, but that is less relevant as a comparison because my offset is such that the rear track puts the outside of the tires absolutely at the edge of the flares. Yours can't stick out any further unless they are outside the physical limit of the flare. The flares will only cause rubbing on the outside edge of the tire and can be timmed on the inner edges fairly easily. You can also run a little more camber if it's a problem. Of more concern for lowering is how far up you have cut the guards under the flares to clear the tops of the tires. I run the left hand rear spring on the stop so can't go any lower.

Those are pretty much the only people you see running fart can mufflers here. Older people drive Hondas like...well Hondas.

Patrick, I think the wheels are cool. I was just having some fun with ya about the muffler. I'm much more about purpose then style, etc.

I'll put it on the agenda to re look at those rear flares. I know how shops hate re-doing stuff but I've already made mention of how little room there is between the rear tyre (at about 11 o'clock) and the bodywork. We can trim a little bit off the inside edge but I don't want to hit the first bit of compression and tear the bodywork off. My rears are 320x650 on 11.5" wide wheels. Therefore compared to yours Steve, the sidewall will have more bulge on it which may or may not exacerbate the situation.

I'm seeing about 1/2 difference between the two in the pictures if you look at the door opening in relation to the flare seam.

Both look fantastic!!! I love that rear end shot Patrick!!
