info needed on 88 951 oil pan

my pan right now is 944 101 201 8r and need a replacement.

is the 6r version the same?

I can take photos of my old oil pan if you like. Off an 88 Turbo S.

IIRC all 87 and after pans are interchangeable... not sure of the 6r / 8r effectivity, but here is a link for side by side picture refference of an 86 turbo pan and 87 and later!

for me dont care for oil level port I was just going to use it for oil temp sensor if it had it.

Am I crazy or is the '86 pan in that pic notably larger than the '87+ pan? I mean, I know there are differences (pickup tube dimple int he bottom and the oil level sender hole), but I would find it rather hard to believe that the pans are actually notably different in size... I mean the gaskets are universal, right?

edit: I just read the write-up on the link that John posted... apparently, the pans can be swapped, so I guess they can't be that dramatically different... it must be the angle of the photo or something...

The early pan is closer to the camera than the late pan. Gives the appearance of larger size.

the late has the flat spot on the bottom, where the early doesn't
