Post New KKK turbo for 944 owners

Folks;

This is a little heads up for all you 944 turbo owners. Please I spend most/all of my time in the aircooled section so please be patient with me. I manage a industrial engine company with a internal turbo shop. We have direct communication with KKK. I have now been able to release the news that KKK is tooling up for a replacement turbocharger for your cars. I have a passion for the 911 based cars but have had many request for upgrades for the 944. I do not want to get into the debate between ball bearing units/ versus Garrett or other. Right now I'm trying to push for a K27 based compressor wheel. This will cause problems with alignment for the bearing housing, but I think that it's a small price to pay.

Folks;

I am going to the factory next week. This post is premature in one aspect for owners that need or want new turbo's right now. KKK wants to know what the general feeling is about possible modificatons that would need to be done for oil drain and water connections. It would be slight but not original! They do not want to manufacture the original housing configuration. This is strickly for cost, and a target sale price.....

Minor Update....

I am requesting that someone in the Seattle area call me or email me for an evaluation on there car. I have new factory pieces and I need to do some measurements and documentations. Yes, you'd think that KKK would call Porsche for a car, but this is not the Original Unit but a near bolt on replacement. Email me or call me @ (800)838-3064

Sounds good.

Just need to know capabilities; boost, hp, and ideally what hp made at what boost levels (effeciency) oh and price.

Todd;

The unit is targeted as a replacement unit for the OEM unit. However, it will be new technology (design) and upgradable. I don't have any of the good info yet. Max boost-HP figures and so on.

I have a full set of drawings, and hopefully this week we will be able to see if the planned changes to the physical dimension will work as planned on the donor car.

I went and saw Kevin today at his shop. Very nice set up. He showed me some interesting turbo stuff and the set up that KKK is looking to develop. Hopefully they get this developed soon!!

I just got a K26/6 rebuilt at his shop. very nice work. Have yet to install it yet though. I'll e-mail him to see if there is any update on the new KKK unit.
