Diff Carrier Bearings Wear
I have a spare trans sitting in front of me here and I have measured the axial play on each one of the CV flange shafts...
One side I can move the flange in and out about 0.035" and the other is 0.038". I assume this would be indicative of worn diff. carrier bearings? If I do need to replace them, this means measuring for and installing new shims (S1 and S2) as well.
How concerned should I be?
