Post Used car has clunking noise

Non-Porsche dealer called me to look at Turbo 944. Car has under 50K, 1989. Driving car, it first strikes me
as having a clunking or thud everytime one goes over bumps or pavement imperfection in road. It also seems
to be very sensitive to road crown, as at times it really seems to pull dramatically to one side of road and
moments later it does not. I suppose there could be something major wrong with steering/front end, but it is
never been wrecked and I have looked over this car pretty carefully. On one stop, the car pulled really hard
left when my hands were off the wheel and the next stop it was very straight. So, 944-philes here are your
questions:

1. Is the clunkiness of this car characteristic only because it is a sporty ride low to ground car. BTW, my C5
Corvette does not clunk or thud.
2. Is this car particularly sensitive to road crown? My MB 4-matic wagon was terribly sensitive.
3. Am I missing a major front end problem and if so what should I look for?

I am scheduled to look over the car with the belly pan off next week before any purchase offer. Thank you.
