I have an N/A tranny in my turbo and with a G-tech my best time was 4.89 then 4.92 and 5.0! My car is running a set of chips, somewhere around 13-14psi and with the DME set to the first notch. I have some 245/40/17 in the back too. Total cost was car +100 for authority chips and the tranny. I don't have LSD so that might make a difference.
As for shifting into 3rd. I tested both ways and found that i can get a better time running the car to 6600 or so rather than shifting into 3rd. the time it takes to shift is precious!!!

I don't know since mid june or so. I use the car ecery day. The tranny is holding up just fine. the best part is that the tranny's top speed at 6400 is 177mph. so i technically could get around it. but quicker. the gtech says i have about 240-250 hp at the wheels. so whatever that means!

na it is just like a really fast N/A car. besides it is fun to spin tires in third and sometimes in fourth! the shifting is just normal to me. just have to be careful not to spin 1st too much! but definatly fun since i shaved about .5 to .75 of a second in my 0-60. my quarter i don't know yet but i want to see. no where good to test, ya know?

Ross,
I've seen 0-60 times for a stock 993, 400 H/P tt at 3.7 seconds Motor Trend. You'll probably never get out of the hole as quick as your Uncle. I've tangled with a 993 tt on the freeway (80-150mph) or so, and it was no contest. It was if he hit the brakes by the time I reached 5th. But, out of the hole, he would have smoked me, I'm sure. 520 H/P seems optimistic for headers, chip (raises his boost I assume) and exhaust. His speed at the end of the 1/4 mile S/B over 125mph with that H/P. Stock is 118 mph. Porsche's GT-2 turbo has 456 H/P (U.S.) and has a lot of improvements over the 996 tt.
