yes if the intake is silicon it'll reduce the sound a little.

If you add a bunch of elbows/fittings in the duct, you can quiet it down........the fittings also increase the pressure drop, a bad thing.

Best thing to do is make a custom airbox like the stock with a panelfilter but with a better intake snorkel and that'll defently quiet things down.
