NorCal: Going to LeMans this Sunday
Just thought I would make a post to see if any 951 boys (or girls) are going to LeMans this Sunday at Laguna Seca? I would love to meet more people that own this great car like I do and talk about experiences with it while watching one of the best damn race circuits in the world.

Be sure to stick around for the World Superkart Races. Eddie Lawson qualified with a 1:26.581 in last years race, which would have put him in fourth position in the GT3 class right behind the Luhr/Maassen GT3 Porsche and two M3 GTR's.
The schedule is here and tickets for Sunday are $40 at the gate. I'd imagine there will be less people than what you would find at a WSBK or a CART race.

I went to the FIA GT/Professional Sportscar race at Laguna Seca back in '98 and the place was virtually deserted. The only grandstand seats which required tickets were on the front straight. I remember sitting one row up from Bill Auberlen in the turn four bleachers while he was watching his little brother in a Barber Dodge Pro Series race.
I suppose ALMS has done quite a bit to grow sportscar racing in the US since then. I'd like to think that the words I had with Don Panoz in a hotel elevator at the 2000 USGP had something to do with it!
