What car is this going in?... DADDY WANT!!!!
It has spent 3 years in a pretty serious NASA GTS 951, but he wants to go to NASA SU (Super Unlimited) so needs more displacement.

So for Unlimited he needs a 4:1 power-to-weight to be competitive, and will need a reliable 600whp. He's investigating going big N/A but I'm trying to talk him out of it.

notice there is no AOS? he knows where to go...

Duke, he uses the factory pump as 1 stage and then a 2 stage external oil pump. I just re did the oil system on one of his setups and went to full drysump(no factory pump). We gained 60fwhp at the same boost level.

Really? 60whp from a drysump. Mind explaining the additional HP gains? Thanks.

Is that a typo Dave?, 60 Fwhp. i just did a quick calculation and the factory oil pump takes 4.667 hp to drive. it should remain constant througout the rev range as the oil pressure relief valve opens at apprx 7bar.

your not using that new 55 nitros shot by any chance?

The power increase should come from less resistance in the crank case due to vacuum and no oil bath for the crank to whip through.

Im not too sure about that Duke. I dont believe the crank sits below the oil level. sure on the street/ track some oil may whip up on the crank but this should not get you any HP on the Engine/vehicle Dyno as the engine is stationary. Any oil coming down from the top end/ balance shafts drains that would hit the crank would be the same whether its dry sump or not.. and i have my doubts that some crankcase vacuum is going to make 55hp.The vacuum may help reduce oil leaks

Ha, that's kinda ironic Travis. So the guy is trying to use a V8 and you're saying don't do it? haha. With the results of your incoming motor perhaps you might re advise him.

Those are the new Fikses. Trying to squeeze 315's up front. Might be tight. In hindsight I wish I went with similar wide body as your avatar.

Anyone with a spare sump can check how high the level of fluid gets with ~6.7L?

Yup, 60fwhp was gained. This was on an engine dyno not a chassis dyno. No tuning was done, the motor was torn down, dry sump installed and re dynoed. He has now turned the boost down 2psi and runs the same HP.

Actually, I have seen similar gains on a few other motors but, they were hard to compare because minor cleaning up of the heads were done at the same time. I only really have 1 motor that was kind of a back to back run with no extra work done

Sean, 75?? I never use anything less than a 100shot

I gained 38-40 RWHP using Evil's dry sump. That's wheel hp.

Milledge himself would have always been the one to suggest that on ANY race engine (944), you dry sump first.

And if I am not mistaken, Milledge now uses Evil's system - looks like his to me in those pictures, because Milledge used to retain the OEM pump (redundant), but Evil's system does not. The oil pump is emptied and used as a front cover only.

What is the little tank with the 4 nipples on the fuelrail for?
is it for the venting of the head?

I want more pictures with all hoses attached

Looks like a vacuum tank. With ITB's there isn't a plenum to equalize vacuum from each runner.
