Post Oil Pump

On our 951, it seems like the oil pump is going out. We aren't running low on oil (we've checked it about 100 times,) but sometimes when I drive the car too hard, or at other un-explainable times, the pressure reads really low, I've even had the light come on once or twice. Is this the pump going out? <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

Try a new sending unit. I have had that problem also. I don't have my PET with me but if I did I would post the part number for you.

Like Russ said, check the sending unit. Or the pressure relief valve could be binding. The oil pumps are very rugged, so that is not a likely suspect in my mind. Have you checked the crank pulley bolt to be sure it is tight?

The wire on my sending unit is acting up sometimes. I am sure its the same with your car. No worries.
