I want to install the two most important gauges in the bin under my radio. Which ones are they? I have a 951 with APE stage II chips and a Lindsey boost enhancer. TIA

Boost gauge and air/fuel meter.
You might want to look into an A-pillar mounted gauge pod, to put them more in your line of sight.
We organized a group buy at http://www.gaugepods.com . They made a replacement A-pillar with the pods molded in, rather than added on later. Should look pretty nice. Delivery date is expected mid january I think.

Its like a 2 on a scale of 1-10. If you can install a stereo which is like brain surgy compared to this mod then you can do it.

Go for 3 guages: VDO boost, Autometer air:fuel, and VDO oil temp.

Re boost, I thought installing this was a bit harder than it seems, on account that you need to run a tube from the intake manifold to the gauge.

Re oil temp, when I had my M3 there was a company who made a trick piece of aluminum which used a banjo bolt to tap into the oil pressure sender position. The oil pressure sender, plus the new oil temp sender, were installed in this "oil distribution block", and allowed an easy installation of the oil temp sender without tapping into the oil pan, or using a crude oil drain plug/oil temp sender.

Like I said, I had it on my E36 M3, and it worked great.

Perhaps it'll fit on the 944 Turbo, or they'll whip one up for you.

For boost you don't have to run it from the intake manifold. You can T right into the boost line which runs right into the cockpit and connects to the KLR box.

Make sure there are absolutely no leaks to the KLR though. Other wise you will run really lean.(i think its lean). (correct me if I am wrong please)

Under my radio i have a VDO 30 lbs boost gauge and the controller to my MBC(lindsey wastegate) I really like the way that looks and it is very convient on those wet and cold days.

Some times I'll take people for a ride at 6 lbs or so just to confuse em'..lol
