Default Rebuilding brake calipers

A few weeks ago I rebuilt my brake calipers. I took some video of the process, and finally got around to editing it!

All-in-all, it went pretty smoothly. I've put about 450 track miles on the calipers since, and they've been performing flawlessly.

As always...great job Van.

Your soothing tone makes me feel like it's as simple as painting a tree.(repeat reference)

Thank you!

Today on the Joy of Porsche with Van Ross Many thanks, I'll need this (and a few other of your videos) in the near future. There should be a total of 10 seals for the M030 calipers, yes? Did you get them from Paragon?

Happy little brake calipers!

I got the seals from racer's edge, but they said stop tech on them.

For M030 calipers (on a turbo or S2 or 968), you'll need 16 - 4 per caliper

Good stuff, Van!!

When Van says the scrapers may be difficult to find, pay attention. For 86-88 owners, you'll rue the day you need to find 16 scrapers in 4 different sizes.....

For those PO's that gooped on anti-squeel or have accumulated other road crap, consider pre-cleaning the exposed portion of the pistons before compressing them and the grunge back past the scrapers. This obviously includes pad changes, also.

Assume you cleaned the calipers of all that nasty brake fluid when you finished the job ?
