How did you fit those speakers in your door? Was it hard at all? Are those 8"er's? LOL

The speaker panel was fabricated by a local stereo shop in MD not too long ago. I'm thrilled with the job they did. They created an organic wood enclosure/surround and covered it with leather, slipped in the deeper/larger 6-inch speakers, fit is very secure, doesn't rattle at all when door closes or is slammed. Price wasn't too bad, just south of $350. Here's another pic, this time of driver's side, you can just see the alum parking brake handle.

That was last month's pic. I've cleaned up my car since I picked it up. It'll get detailed once the snow stops =). See the pic below of my car power polished and detailed, this was before the big rebuld job. Original paint, driven year round, in winter it's driven on salted/sanded roads in -30C temperatures. Other than the stone chips, it's pretty good. I do get it professionally power polished twice a year (after winter, before winter) with a really generous coat of wax. Nice to have friends in the auto detailing business.

Nope, but we did forget to hook up the oil cooler when we first cranked the engine after the buildup. Result, lots of oil on the floor. See pic below =).

Used the sticky tape that came with it. The swivel on that metal bracket is quite stiff, I've launched the car very hard before and it doesn't move one bit. In fact, I used to launch so hard, I broke my tranny. 2 teeth off 1st, 2 teeth off 2nd. Lesson learned : don't drop the clutch at 7000rpm repeatedly, and don't powershift from 1st to 2nd. 2nd to 3rd is fine though, no damage at all on those gears =).

Note to self: Self, don't launch car from 7000 RPM.

Anyways, looks good rage2 and John H. I think I'll mount mine in the glove box, which ever one I decide on.

Dan and Kierf, good luck with your projects. I just bought a digital camera, so please indulge me while I post some gratuitous shots.

Hey RAGE2,

Nice to see another Calgarian on this forum.

Do you ever take your car to Race City??
I am not sure if I have seen it there or not.

I'll be back on the track next year, work's kept me away from car projects the last 3 years, but things have calmed down a lot more.

What color's your 951? Which area of the city do you live in? Wonder if I've seen your car before =).

Rage,

I actually dont drive 951. I am still a poor student , and therefore, am forced to cruise the town in a 5 liter mustang.

I am friends with Dom, who owns the 600hp, '87 930 slantnose.
You may know him, or his car.

I live in Woodbine, in the S.W

Dan87951,

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, the front splitter is made by AIR. The car's been lowered as well. I'm actually exploring selling it right now and starting another project (likely a 993TT). If I can part with it on the right terms, then I'll pull the trigger. Otherwise, I'll keep enjoying some boosted fun!

You should've seen my car in Woodbine, I'm there a lot. Cousin lives across the street from Woodbine Safeway, and inlaws live near the 7-11 by the baseball diamond.

And yes I remember Dom, met him many years ago at Race city, where he gave me a ride in his beast. My goal is to be as fast as him, haven't gotten there yet though! I still talk about the ride in his car to this day =). I heard Dom's car makes more than 600hp these days, my mechanic knows a lot about his car.

Rage,

I dont remember the exact numbers that Doms car makes, but I believe it was 605 at the rear wheel.

I think I can remember everytime I have seen a 911 turbo, 944 turbo or Ferrari in Calgary. I dont recall ever seeing yours around town.

Does it have 17' OZ F1 wheels on it??

Your car looks exactly like Paul's:

You could sell your car easily for US$17.8k if it's an 89 and in as good shape as the pic makes it out to be. I sold mine for near that and it didn't have the AIR lip and it also had 78k mi.
