Bosch HV fuel pump direct fit?! Ha!
Unless I'm being stupid, which has certainly happened in the past, I fail to see how this thing is a direct fitment.
I got the old one off and instantly noticed that the fuel supply bung on the HV pump is a larger diameter than the old one, but figured the factory fuel hose would still slide on.
Well, not so much. I've lubed the bung on the HV pump as well as the hose and it's just not going on there. What am I missing here? Do I need to run to the parts store and get another bit of fuel hose that's a larger diameter? Yippee another bath in fuel!
Not to mention the fun I had getting the stock fuel pumps stud out of the other end of the fuel hose. Had to take that hose out of the fuel filter and put it in a vice to pop it free.

Yeah direct fit - you are going to hell and back.
Never underestimate the **** you are about to undertake.
Anyway - what is the part number on your pump?
We may be able to help you with angles and Aeromotive part numbers.

It's the Bosch hv pump. All the other connections are factory, unlike the 044 pump.
So I need a larger diameter fuel hose then. Guess that's what lindsey wanted to sell me for $15. Even though it's a "direct fit"

Didn't see an issue on my wideband, but the builder recommended a bigger fuel pump. He just built another car like mine that was showing a drop of 20psi in fuel pressure at the same power levels mine is.
The fuel pump in mine was stock, so it's not a bad thing to replace anyways...
I'll try again with the stock hose today, if not I'll just go buy a slighter larger diameter one from the auto parts store...

Yes, I read that before I started. I have everything back together but can't get the stock hose from the fuel tank over the barb fitting on the HV fuel pump. It's markedly larger on the HV pump vs the stock pump. I've tried lubing it and it just won't go. That's why I say this isn't a direct fit, it clearly requires a new tank to pump hose that's larger than stock.
No one locally has fuel hose with an ID of 1/2" and the stock part is NLA. I'm having a friend come over tomorrow and hopefully with one of us twisting the hose on, the other one can get the clamp on and then I'll be finished.
I *highly* recommend you source at least a 1/2" ID hose, or larger to replace the stock tank to pump hose if you're planning on installing one of these...

Thanks, I may need to take you up on that. I have a friend coming over tomorrow to help me. I think I can twist the hose on and hold it while he tightens the clamp in place...

Isn't the 928GTS pump a higher volume pump than ours, and a 100% direct fit?
