2.5" test pipe, or should I upgrade to a full 3" from the DP back?
3 bar FPR
Tial 38 WG
Will the CV handle boost or do I NEED a boost contoller of some type? Thats the big question and the only thing holding me back from ordering the A tune right now.
Thanks

Lane,
Your car is a prime candidate for the A-Tune! Not a problem if you are currently using the stock CV to control boost, the A-Tune will work with it.

So what kind of results are you getting with the map? Is there a temp sensor? Most importantly why map compared to maf; why map only?

He can answer for himself but I can answer also.
My Max chipped (and supporting mods ) is a monster on boost!, but unless your doing 120mph, dropping it into 4th at anything below 70mph basically shuts down the motor!

Autobahn gearing and a 60 mph speed limit give me basically two overdrive gears
so improved drive ability sounds real exciting to me!

this sound like what i need, i just do not want to mess with a pb, the maf conversions leave much to be desired, i could bearly get everything to fit and the airfilter had to get a crush to fit. Car buckles on take off and it is nothing as smooth as the afm.

Yeah I got a Huntly Racing/Racing ARC ONE (is it) Maf Kit with my 951, PO (my best friend) had to fight to keep me from installing it! Never did , he kept mubbling about not enough air flow(it was for an S2) and having to tweak sittings when cold etc.
So far the guys that have Rouges kit seem to be very happy with their results!

with the MAP, the car is able to adjust the fuel and timing based on boost, not just on throttle position or the AFM. Porsche built a Temp sensor into the AFM. MAP + MAF = M-tune, which is flat incredible.

MAP only = A-tune which I don't know much about, other than it's similar to what many N/A cars are running today.

Does your chip allow a person to run more boost with A-Tune and the stock CV? I do have a lindsey boost enhancer not sure if that would be good to use with A Tune or not.

"3Bar MAP sensor addition. Now the DME knows and understands boost pressure! "

Just read his site

I'd lose the Boost enhancer if you go with any kit!

To clarify I'm asking about n tune for the na cars.

Simply put, it isn't needed. As rogue said it's going to be a speed density setup and all that needs is a MAP and TPS sensor to correlate load to how much fuel to inject. You won't need the barn-door AFM anymore, which should give you a few horses since you no longer have that restriction.

Uh Oh, he said the "R" word! And I'm gonna go there! OK now I think (even though I don't have his gear) Rogue's gear is the best think that has happened to our cars since the invention of the "wheel" Specifically great performance and features at what would appear to be a great price! I have E85 around here (well more or less,so I'm gonna be all in)

But, I think the main reason to ditch the AFM, is because it's just one more old moving part to get rid of. So in essence enhanced reliability. My car runs a AFM at the moment and I have had no issues with it, other than the fact that anytime I want to do something to the motor the AFM always seem to be in the way!

Just saying no need to go overboard!

My understanding is that the AFM will support up to 400 hp?

Yep you pretty much got it right. Even when just driving the normal 45-55mph range around town I would have to downshift to 3rd to keep the car form bogging when coming to a hill.

Now I can make it up a hill in 4th with just a little throttle input.

Also when you need to GO 4th pulls pretty hard!
