Same happened to mine about a year ago. I took the mirror off to see if it can be disassembled and repaired (doesn't look to be the case). With it off the windshield I was able to align the broken parts and get it back into the daytime position. You won't be able to change positions without it failing again, but its better than nighttime mode and the mirror flopping around.

What appears to break is the hinge, which, sadly, is made in the same fashion as the cassette door hinge.
