My car is an 87, so they are just the flat sheet minus the piston inserts.
I have 996 monoblock calipers to install and they do have shims like in the pic which I will use

So, which is this Champagne taste, beer budget, or just plain pandering?
MAN I need to get dissipated..
BTW, JD is now operating a new home... I like it..

I remember that I did not want to go from the email list to the web forum so I did not join the forum when it first started….of course that was back in the ‘dial up’ days!!!

Yeah, the communication and intent of the old mailing lists seems very different than the forums.
I started on the e-mail list ~1998. At the time the discussion topics were more focused on maintenance and troubleshooting with some very good experts involved (imagine 10-15 Chris White-like people chiming in) (oh, and getting together to drink a beer or 2, aka Chicago Porschelist gatherings).
I think as the general demographic of 951 owners has changed (now younger as the cars have gotten cheaper) and more maintenance information is available on the internet, that discussion topics in the forums have migrated toward tuning and general social topics. Not saying that's worse than the e-mail lists, just different.
One of the other major differences I've noticed is in general etiquette of posters. On the mailing lists, if you posted known incorrect information, one of the more knowledgable members would make a tasteful and gentle correction. I don't always see the same decorum here.
Ahh, the good old days... Now I feel fully dissipated.....

I have seen some very polite posts countered by some that were not the like.. it is part of the RL experience these days.
Funny though, there are still the occasional maintenance issues, plaguing everyone, that get quite the attention! And responses.
