Performance Friction 97s. Make sure you bed them in properly and keep them bedded in if you want them to be quiet at low speeds. Dragging them lightly a lot makes them noisy below 12-15ish mph.

Performance Friction have awesome bite but do throw a lot of dust. Need to keep things cleaned regularly too with this dust.

front: pagid blues on my gts big blacks over solid gts rotors. the brake adaptor kit, and 5/33 bias valve was purchased at Paragon.
big blacks and rotors from SunCOAST Porsche during one of their midnight madness sales over the thanksgiving holiday a couple of years ago.
i imagine the pads might go about 50 k miles before they need to be changed. they screech like hell so i'm changing to a softer pad next time.
rear: pbr on stock calipers. awesome pads. wish i could find pbr's for the fronts.

Best brake pads ever used both on the track and off ( street )
Very expensive I don't know if they are even avail in the US ( got them from Porsche in Germany.... They were called Green Pads ...
They leave a nasty black dust ...

are you guys using the factory shims
The ones that fit in to the pistons on the calipers?
I have heard they are crap so what the hell I am I doing wrong.
I tried Mintex, Metal masters, with shims without shims
wtf??

Er eh heavy street use!!
Anyway, I normally use the PBR Deluxe pads on all my cars. They are extremely low on brake dust and have a decent amount of bite. If you don't mind the dust, PBR also has Ultimates which has fantastic bite and low fade for quiet street pads. I've ran HP+s on another car before and they have terrible cold bite and will squeak if you don't put them to good use often (I normally wouldn't call this a street pad).

You can get either PBR Deluxes or Ultimates for under $100 (both axles) at ImportRP.com.
I always had good luck with noise with metal master]what are you doing for shims?

Use the factory Textar pads for the street. They have great bite and are totally silent.

Performance Friction 97 pads are TRACK pads, NOT street pads!

Hawk HP+ dust like crazy and squeel like a pig.

Metal Masters or Axxis Ultimates have very little brake torque and feel like crap.

I'm running the Hawk HP+ as well. With light use they get a little squeeky around town...and I'm always cleaning the rims. Dusty

You say that as if they're illegal for street use or something?

I think he just meant that the pads operate at a different temp to become effective, and that unless your tearing up you neighborhood, the pads will not work as they were designed for
