Race ABS
Does anybody know if there exist or has ever existed a race-ABS for the 951?
I remember having read about this on a late model Cup car, but can not find it back in any of the extended descriptions, like the ones on <a href="http://www.asarus.com" target="_blank">www.asarus.com</a>
Thx.

Yes, I have seen that.
But I know that e.g. on a 993 you can get a chipset with more agressive settings, so actually allowing for a greater percentage of slip.
Would be nice to have that on a 951 too

I too remember hearing something about a 'race chip' for the abs, with more aggressive settings.
My local P-car mechanic used to work for a company that campaigned a TurboCup car... I'll ask him if he's heard of anything....
Hans: Noticed the 'Intrax double adjustable coil-overs' in your signature... care to elaborate? A custom job? Front or rear? Any pics?

Hey Raagi,
<img border="0" alt="[offtopic]" title="" src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" />
The Intrax suspension is semi-custom, but at a very affordable price.
Front and rear, the torsion bars removed.
They look like real works of art.
Front is with integrated camber/caster plate, joined by a uniball (monoball) plate.
Offcourse there is simple height adjustment Front and rear.
They are 5 cm = 2" shorter the standard, giving optimal characteristics on my lowered car. The original connection to the steering knuckle is turned upside down, allowing for a greater possible negative camber with the eccentric in the bottom. I run up to -5 degrees camber, which depending on the track, gives a optimal heat profile. And it looks cool !
It is currently upgraded from single adjustable to double adjustable set-up, so I can not give you any real pictures. A commercial picture looks like this

I use it track only, but the setup is also very usable in mixed street / track operation. The dampers have a residual spring rate of up to 150 lbs /inch. , so I run it with progresive springs of only 190 F and 150 R. Since the damping adjustment also influences the spring rate, you can tune down the suspension considerably.

Nicolas is right. The ABS is the same as the road version...
Most of the drivers were unhappy to have an ABS on this car before they tried.. after a few races, they discovered that it enabled to brake later (and even until the corner) and gain some seconds ;-)
