Post Need information on sleeving block...

Any of you guys out there have an Alusil block in a 944 turbo which has been sleeved, and/or overbored....i.e. 100 mm to 104 mm or the like.

If so, what type of liner is in your engine, how well does it work and what if any issues do you have.

I am considering sleeving my 928 95 mm block, and maybe even taking it out to 100 mm...if possible....this might be a stretch because of the lack of decking material.

You may want to check out the article in Excellence about the 600+ h/p 968 motor. That motor was sleeved. I believe Milledge uses the same.

Hello

Kolbenschmidt is selling alusil sleeves for stock 928 and 944 block.
They are replacement for the stock alusil bores.

Nicolas:

I have heard of this before. Supposedly there is a procedure for this in the 928 manual. So this alusil sleeve will preserve the ability to reuse the stock 100mm pistons.

I guees you can get these in Europe, I wonder if they are available in the States?
