Mike - any flow-rate data?
The engineer ran some numbers and it flows more then the -12 lines and fittings that it connects with. Is that what you want?

We base our prices on what it cost to make something and a mark up. Not
based on what something else cost. I assume you're not in the manufacturing
business. What do you do btw?

Wow - nice looking setup! I put an RX7 cooler on my old 87 turbo and it cost a lot more than the number Spencer through out there plus I had to have some fab work done to the cooler.

After taking the "custom" route on cars in the past, and enjoying both the self-pride in doing it myself, plus feeling "better" than those who paid for pre-done kits... I've learned that I no longer have the interest or ultimately money that it requires to properly "custom" build almost anything these days.

I know the RX-7 cooler isn't a direct "bolt-in" like the Lindsey kit is. As I get older and have more "been there, done that" projects under my belt, I can say I'd much rather let someone else work out the kinks and bugs, pay a little extra, and buy the kit that will bolt right in and work with no rigging or messing around.

$750 is a bit more than I was expecting it to be. But the thought of not having to mess around with a junkyard cooler, or fabbing something up to make the Setrab unit fit nicely, makes me think that the price is worth it.

No, I'm not. I apologize for saying that, after looking more into it it seems like better value.

I guess it depends where you get things made.

The newness of the part and the direct fitment makes the price make more sense.

Sorry Lindsey guys.

Looks nice, does it leave enough room to mount an FMIC?

Realistically you could make the same thing yourself if you or a mate can weld for under half the cost, but if you cant, then you pay excess for someones margin.

Nice looking cooler, probably worth the money if you want a nice looking cooler that bolts straight on. Had decided to buy this until I saw the price, making a custom setup yourself is not that hard in my opinion.

Well, keep in mind many cars dont even come with a external oil cooler. Very few would ever need any type of improved cooler. For example, none of the Porsche 944's racing in the local Bridgestone series use a different oil cooler. The stock does fine.

NZ, we get it. You love stock fuel rails and have never seen one fail. You love cars without oil coolers, or small ones that people go to great lengths to upgrade.

I've read tons of your posts going way back and learned much from your experience, and I appreciate it, but it appears your boner for LR just wont go away.

I dont have any feelings for the stock fuel rail one way or the other, just never seen any fail. I never said I dont like cars with oil coolers, or coolers that are small. You simply just made all that up, right now.

Its got nothing to do with any vendor, its just well, posting experiences, which is what forums are all about arent they? I could have posted about all the failures the LR rails have had and the design issues, but I didnt, so you jumping on the soap box, is pretty far fetched.

My car has a stock engine, and the stock oil cooler was to small even on a 50-60F day. Stock cooler is also in good condition. I'll probalby go for a 25 rows Setrab STD 330mm or something similar

Hmm Id say you have other issues if on a stock engine you have oil cooling issues on a 50-60F day. Moreover, how did you determine the oil cooler was too small?

My stock cooler maintained reasonably cool oil temps in my 400BHP motor on track days in 100F weather...

Using a VDO oil temp unit in the oil drain plug. Based on my experience from other engines I cannot believe that a turbo engine with this small oil cooler will last on a track in that temperature. If you had a 400hp car that was fine with stock cooler on track you either have an extremely fast track or drive really slow
