I just got my Sport Comps back from AutoMeter, the silver bezels always bugged me. They just didn't match my all black interior. Neither did the Alpine, removed it too. Here's the results...

I quite like it because it looks smarter like that but at the same time it does look like it has been changed rather than that it might have been a factory option

Default Old Pioneer cd player

The 90's type Pioneer cd player matches really well and has the exact same amber lighting.

+1 on the Bluetooth, a must have when your straped in one of these cars. Also like the GPS for 'Exploring New Frontieres' [Places where my car isnt posted 'Wanted, Dead or Alive'], An Ipod, for when the mood strikes. The DVD is only used at gatherings, wish I had a Porsche disc explaining what the car is, so I wouldnt have too, over and over. And the Touchscreen gets rid of 99% of the buttons. Dont really understand the need for a sub in this small space.

Good stuff. I think I might see how much it would be for the stereo shop to put a set of 5 1/4" components up front for some midrange. I thought about going with a double din stereo, but decided against it only because of cost and what not. I will rarely use the DVD function. I just would like a nice clean sounding system with bluetooth, and Iphone connectivity.

I've been pretty happy with the Blaupunkt Hamburg MP-68 (you can see it in my pics above and in my sig below). It does bluetooth and iPod as well as USB MP3/WAV and it looks, not surprisingly, German. It all works well but the interface can be a little clunky at times. UI's should be designed by Americans, cars by Germans :-)

I don't care for the A-pillar gauge pod or the digital gauges that's in it, but that's the best solution I've found so far. I don't like gauges under the radio and I don't want to hack apart the dash vents. I looked at moving them to the steering column, but I haven't found an elegant way to do it yet. But I did get rid of the factory boost gauge since I have an aftermarket one.

Currently the car is torn apart and I'm spending a lot of time in the details. I'm looking forward to the results!

Currently reworking them to add electronic boost and integrate the WBO2 readout, and clean them up once and for all, but you get the idea... also have a bug or two to exercise from the setup, it was a spare cluster I had laying around, and not a perfect match for the car.. I am also considering redoing them again, to run off outputs from my stand alone, so I can scrap most of the factory wiring... but keep the "stock" or "OEM" appearance of the cluster on the whole...

http://www.renntube.com/videos/13/mu...r-camera-mount

took an afternoon or two of work on my part, but I am overly satisfied with the over all product and look... this is about a year old now, maybe a little more... I did this because I HATE the A pillar gauges, FWIW, I am also adding pods to the top of the dash, above the vents to include EGTs and EBC in the dash, but not into the exsisting dash... more to follow...

As it sits right now...
